also i think it depends on how good your wirless router is & how far away from it you are?? as when i tested mine earlier today i was in the same room as the router & i have tested it again from up in my bedrrom & its nearly halved its speed :-(

Well I've just changed a bit of hardware in my PC, I used to be on wireless but the signal was utter cr@p! Max download was about 150kb/sec average was 80k/sec and it kept loosing signal quite often too :o

I've just bought and installed some Comtrend powerline adapters after taking some advice from Mario/Paul.

Speed is a little better now :D

Date -----------Download Speed-------------------Upload Speed
Today 20:18 ----9097 kbps (1.14MB/s) -------------644 kbps (80.5kB/s)

A little word of advice, this test is utter SHIT, i have a 8MB connection, if i use the website linked at the start of the post it says i get.

Today 20:30 1474 kbps (184kB/s) 366 kbps (45.8kB/s)

They all DEPEND on how much useage they are getting, plus the hosts are big companies who host them, so when they are using the lines it will say you got a crap connection

It is a good information about internet speed.........
In this way i test my internet everyday , because it is useful to know about the uploading and downloading speed, so i check my speed through this site http://www.scanmyspeed.com
My speed test results are,
upload speed:0.52 kbps
download speed:1.96 kbps
It has the best & accurate results for my internet speed test!!!!

So how things change.

Same setup as before.

Date Download Speed Upload Speed
Today 14:40 310 kbps (38.8kB/s) 342 kbps (42.8kB/s)

Not bad for a supposed 8meg setup.

They have been round this morning to fix the phone line, which I was hoping would sort the problem out but it would appear not.

Looks like another 20 minute phone call to India.
